If you are looking for an effective home tattoo removal method then will need to keep looking because I’m afraid you won’t find any form of DIY tattoo removal that will produce the results you need, well at least not on this site. What you will find though is advice that you can trust.

The simple answer to Does Home Tattoo Removal Work? is NO.

There are many reasons why DIY tattoo removal will not work, to understand why they are un effective it’s important to firstly understand your tattoo as this is what you want to have removed.

We all make mistakes in life, whether it was the petulance of youth or just a bad decision. The fact is you are now left with an unwanted tattoo.

A tattoo artist’s job is to give you a tattoo that will last a lifetime, to do this he must ensure that the tattoo won’t fade. To stop it from fading he places the ink pigment deep into your skin and this is the main reason why home based tattoo removal methods just cannot produce the effective results that are available through surgical tattoo removal methods.

For a DIY tattoo removal procedure to be effective it needs to be able to penetrate down to these deep layers of skin. Most of the tattoo removal creams lotions and balms are no more than a topical treatment. Though topical treatments may absorb into the skin they are designed to stay on the surface and because of this they will never penetrate deeply enough to help in the removal of your tattoo and that’s it, that is the only reason that these lotions won’t work for you.

It may sound harsh but the countless tattoo removal balms and creams are effectively the modern version of snake oil, they promised the world but in truth they deliver very little in the way of results and in most cases you will have already bought months’ worth of treatment before you realize how ineffective these methods really are.

Finding reviews of these creams on the Internet is not difficult, however the vast majority of these home tattoo removal reviews are false and they are only there to try and buy these products so the owners of the site can make a commission. In effect they are working of your need to have a tattoo removed.

Of the many varieties of tattoo removal cream on the market today you will find that some do not even list their ingredients on the bottle, of the manufacturers that do list their creams ingredients of which include everything from plant extract to Algae and seaweed extract. Though these are natural ingredients their effectiveness in removing a tattoo has to be highly questionable. Thankfully these are the less damaging ingredients, some manufacturers use a long list of corrosive and abrasive ingredients which have lasting effects on the skin including disuse damage and scarring.

What may be most worrying of all is that on the date of writing this article the FDA has not approved one of the many forms of tattoo removal balms that are available on the market today, I believe that this is among the most damming evidence that tattoo removal balm DOES NOT WORK.

You may still think that these creams are cheap and worth trying they are not a 1 off payment and the cost of these treatment kits will soon mount of up and it will be months before you realize that you have effectively wasted you money, money that could have been spent on a tattoo removal procedure that does yield results.

I hope I have dispelled some myths, but the fact is that you are still left with an unwanted tattoo, the question now is what are the other forms of DIY tattoo removal and can you produce more effective results>

Do The other Home Tattoo Removal Remedies Work?

The remaining removal methods are all based around the idea of Dermabrasion tattoo removal, please follow the link to find out more.

Dermabrasion

Dermabrasion can be performed either manually or with a high speed instrument, ( electrical sanders have been used, watch the video below). The aim here is to sand or rub away the layers of skin until you finally reach the layer that contains the tattoo pigment. The method is extremely painful and was commonly endured until new tattoo removal methods were introduced. It can however produce results, but this will depend on how deep in your skin the ink pigment is placed and the level of pain you can injure, but the chances of being left with permanent scar tissue are very high. It is also important to remember that you will need multiple treatments, each more painful than the last. It is also inevitable that you will be left with some scars and damage to your skin tissue. This is a cheap form of tattoo removal but should the damage you are doing to your body out way the cost involved in having your tattoo removed?

Saline injections and dermabrasion.

Before the introduction of more reliable forms of tattoo removal, a saline injection was injected into the tattooed area, this begun the process of breaking the tattoo pigment down which helped to make the dermabrasion process more effective. Injecting a saline into your body is not advisable; this should be done by a professional that can properly judge the dosage and also the depth of the tattoo in the skin. DO NOT try this yourself.

If you are looking for an effective remedy for tattoo removal at home, none exist. With all the tattoo removal methods that I have outlined about the downsides outweigh the results and effectiveness of each tattoo removal method. Even if you are desperate to get rid of your unwanted tattoo but surgical methods are to expensive and for many are but having your tattoo removed surgically either by laser or IPL ( Intense Light pulse) are the only effective removal methods

Before having my Tattoo removed what are the questions that need to be answered

Getting a Tattoo for the first time seems, for many like a rite of passage, a way to tell the world that I’m grown up now I can make my own decisions and do what I want with my life and my body Well that’s what I thought before I got my first tattoo, but it didn’t take too long before I realised I had made a big MISTAKE. It didn’t take me long to realise that what I had done will be with me for the rest of my life.

So what made me change my mind about this new tattoo, well a number of factors, I didn’t plan it properly, it just didn’t sit on my skin right, the tattoo artist wasn’t as good as I thought and didn’t produce the quality of tattoo that I wanted. So now I was faced with a dilemma that thousands of other people face, how to get rid of an unwanted tattoo.

There are a host of tattoo removal options available and I spent months researching and learning about these different methods and trying to find the best tattoo removal options and this was how this site was born. Before I started building a list of all the possible tattoo removal methods I first had to answer a number of burning questions about the different processes and what was involved and I’m guessing that if you found my site you are asking yourself the exact same questions.

These are the questions I needed to try and find answers for:

Tattoo removal cost (I was just out of college, so wasn’t exactly flush).

Will it hurt (getting the tattoo was just about bareable, so how much will it hurt to have it taken off).

Will the tattoo be completely removed, or will I be left with scars or some blotchy marks on my skin.

Are there any health risks involved, I don’t want a tattoo but if it means ending up in hospital I could live with it on my skin.

Do I need to have my tattoo removed by a specialist or is there some DIY or at home tattoo removal options available?

Well those are the questions that were burning in my head before I started on what would prove to be a long and interesting journey in the world of tattoo removal.

Pretty early on it was clear that the different tattoo removal options can be broken into 2 distinct categories, surgical tattoo removal and “at home tattoo removal” or DIY tattoo removal. As you can guess the first option is going to cost you if you decide to get a specialist involved and because of my lack of funds I decided to start my research with the home tattoo removal methods. Now as I had decided to research the DIY methods and even though it would prove a cheaper option this was counter balanced by the level of pain that would have be endured, it wasn’t a compromise I was willing to make but as I could not afford the surgical methods I was left with very little choice.

Angelina Jolie may have established a successful career spanning decades, but it seems that her attempt at laser tattoo removal was not as successful.

Jolie’s tattoo woes began when she had her ex husband’s name Billy Bob Thornton tattooed above a dragon on her arm.

For the unaware, Angelina was wife to Billy Bob for about three years, and as the marriage came to its end in 2002, she started the laser tattoo removal of Billy Bob’s moniker that is prominently displayed on her sleeveless arm.

The unwanted name was not removed – either the laser treatments were not effective or she did not undergo the needed number of treatments. To put out of sight the last reminder of his failed relationship with Billy Bob, Angelina chose a cover up tattoo.

Yes, tattoo removal treatments are expensive. In addition, multiple treatments are needed to totally remove the tattoo. However, if an ordinary income earner could afford the cost of laser tattoo removal, for sure Angelina can. It’s a puzzle why she opted to cover up the remainder of the tattooed name when she could very well afford to complete the needed tattoo removal tre4atments.

Based on photos showing her upper arm, Angelina chose as cover up design a list of the Latitudes and Longitudes of the places where her children were born.

I have never liked the idea of having someone else’s name tattooed on oneself. However, what would you think of a cover up design that is just as silly as the unwanted tattoo?

Famous actress, Megan Fox, excerpt a line form poet, Angela Monet, the problem is, the poet, does not seem to exist. It seems that Megan Fox got some tattoo quote from a poet no one else has ever heard of.

Some of her tattoos include Shakespeare quotations, Taoist symbols and Marilyn Monroe. Her collection of tattoos has always been questioned, but her latest addition to her collection has made celebrity spotters confused.

Her confusing tattoo extends her right flank from the back of her rib-cage up to the tip of the hip. The quote says, “Those who danced were thought to be quite insane by those who could not hear the music.” It sounds mysterious, but if the line is inscrutable, the poet who wrote it is even more unfathomable. According to a tabloid, the quote is from a not-so-popular poet, Angela Monet, if you try to search her in Google, you will not find her, she does not appear to exist.

The staff at the Poetry Society confirmed that they have never heard of a poet by that name. The head of the librarian, Chris McCabe of the Poetry Library, said that the mysterious poet has no record in the database of the library; however, he said that it could possibly be that Angela Monet uploaded the said quotation to a quotes website and it was mistakenly accredited to her. According to McCabe, it happens quite often. There are people who think that the line must be inspired from a verse from the 13th-century Sufi mystic Rumi, which goes, “We rarely hear the inward music, but we’re all dancing to it nevertheless.” McCabe also has another lead, he said that it could be from Nietzsche, but Dr. Christopher Hamilton of King’s College London and an expert on Nietzche does not think so, according to him, he does not recall reading it in Nietzche, and it does not even sound like Nietzche, so the it only means that the mystery of Megan Fox’s tattoo even gets more mysterious.

A former Fresno gang member is now facing a life sentence because of making his son, who is only 7 years old, get tattooed with a gang symbol he himself made which says, “An irresponsible decision.” When he testified in Fresno County Court last Tuesday, the 27-year old gang member, Enrique Gonzales, told the court that he never really persuade his son to be in a gang, however, his affiliation was what made the boy went for it. Gonzales admitted that he made an irresponsible decision for getting son tattooed.

Gonzales argued to the prosecutors when they said that he held his son down while the boy was having his small dog paw tattoo, which is the symbol of the Bulldogs street gang.

Gonzales and his fellow gang member, Travis Gorman, 22-year-old have both pleaded not guilty to aggravated mayhem and willful cruelty charges for that incident in April 2009.

Both of the men said that they already quit the gang ever since their arrest.

I already have seen several appealing film-related tattoos during my time, in person, onscreen and in photos. Zack Carlson, programmer of Alamo Drafthouse has a Troll 2 tattoo, the movie that memorialize the greatest days of VHS. I also noticed some cool movie tattoos when we watched a weekend-marathon LA Ink on Netflix Watch Instantly. The other day, the Alamo Drafthouse presented a blog that highlights a tattoo; their projectionists got a tattoo which referenced the movie “The Human Centipede.” I am actually scared watching this movie; however, I know enough of the movie to be able to appreciate the tattoo. The tattoo is so much popular but it was done tastefully. All these tattoos that I saw, I begin to wonder what kind of tattoo I would have, in case it is my turn to have one movie-related tattoo. I still have not thought what it would be, I still cannot think of any tattoo that will symbolize my favorite movie, or choose a movie that truly means something to me. I also cannot take my mind off, “The Human Centipede.” I know that any tattoo I might have will not be as large and complex, and it will surely not be placed anywhere on painful areas. What would I choose a small strip of film, a memorable quote, or small-winged Sam Lowry? Nothing has ever caught my attention, yet, not enough to take something seriously.

If you have any movie-related tattoo, share a picture of your tattoo. Also, share your idea on what movie idea you would like to have.

The boy who was persuaded into getting a bawdy tattoo right on his buttocks will have to complete his school year off-campus. This was the agreement of his family and the Concord School District. The attorneys for the Austin family, Molly McKean and Steve Duggan now confirmed some details regarding the educational agreement; however, it will not be announced for the protection, safety and privacy of the son, who is only freshman.

The boy told his parents that when returned for the first time to Concord High on May 25, after the incident, he was again bullied.

The father of the boy, Michael Austin, said that his told him that a two of the students yelled at him the offensive two-word phrase that was tattooed across his buttocks, then one of them even threatened to hit him if there is anything going to happened to the four men that were arrested in the incident. Three of those men that were arrested are students at Concord High School and the other one is a graduate student.

The incident happened during breakfast, when his boy returned to school, according to Austin. The other incident happened right after the school held an assembly addressing bullying.

At that time, Austin decided that his son would not attend Concord High school for the remaining school year and he would seek to have the school district give tutors for his son.

The attorneys of the family said that the agreement between the school district and the family was the outcome of an effort to find a solution so that the boy could complete the school year.

The lawmakers in Texas need to embark upon an estimated $18-billion deficit, and a potential solution may include tattoos, piercings and tans. The State Comptroller’s Office said that a sales tax on these items can bring about $5-million yearly. However, a tattoo artist at Pumping Ink located in northeast El Paso named, Adam Warner, believed that they are creating art so it should not really be subjected to a sales tax.

Based on Warner’s statement, people are not buying pieces of goods from them; they are buying a piece of art, so how can these lawmakers tax a piece of art?

In addition, sales tax on tattoos could potentially hurt his business and could discourage customers from getting tattoos.

These people also worked hard to earn their money, according to Warner, people already pay so much taxed to the government, he added.

There is a new type of tattoo ink today, which makes it easy for every American to overturn the one long-term commitment that they might feel sorry for. About a quarter of adult Americans already memorize the sound of the ink piercing through their outer skin.

A growing number of American adults are getting used to the pain brought by that little pokes made by the tool in tattooing.

The procedure of laser tattoo removal could take about 5-15 sessions, six weeks in between the session. During the procedure the ink pigments break loose each time the pulses of light from the later is used, the body will then naturally clear the ink away, according to the associate director of the Laser and Skin Surgery Center of Northern California.

However, the procedure could now get done fast because the creators of InfinitInk claimed that their product appear and performs like the traditional tattoo ink, the only difference is that theirs can be removed by laser three times faster than the traditional ink. This process is very much ideal because you can easily make up your mind and decide to go through a removal procedure right away without the fear from the pain, according to Chotzen.

Wild Bill Hill, a tattoo artist from Roseville believe that the product could be ideal for tattoo removal, however, it is not the case for those people who expect that their tattoo is something permanent. He admitted that it had caught his attention when he first learn about it and made a lot of research about it, but he wants to make sure that it will be around the market for a while and he wants to make sure that it is something proven to be able to learn if it is permanent.

Based on the official website of the InfinitInk’s, they have already tried the product, 40 people have tested it. Still, a lot of artists are still waiting to see some of the side effects that the ink will have, before they tried the ink on their customers.

Will Bill say that, artist like him, should have to learn first how long the ink going to last does?

InfinitInk only comes in black color, and this easy to erase ink can only be avail at two of the tattoo shops in California, and these are in Winn Tattoos in La Jolla and 264 Customs in West Hollywood.

Once there is an increase in laser tattoo removal treatments, there will also be an increase in the proceeds of the tattoo parlors. A lot of people today will have their tattoo removed through the use of laser or they may also place a new tattoo on the old one’s place. According to Cary Kandarian, a tattoo artist from Body Electric Tattoo located in Hollywood said that, each tattoo is silly, and each day at the tattoo parlor can be considered silly or crazy, during this interview, Kandarian was actually giving Nathan, a 20-year-old man his fifteenth tattoo. The tattoo is a skull that included the words Los Angeles on it.

Nathan, said that he loves LA, and that the tattoo parlor was cool, he was there for a couple of weeks and all he felt was good.

Customer are not all like Nathan, a lot of people who have had their tattoos will eventually want to have them removed. Back then, the procedure of removing tattoos are not that tasteful and fun, according to Dr. Tattoff of Beverly Hills and one of its employees, Ian Kirby.

If ever you decide to remove your tattoo, there are some people who would try to remove your tattoo; the way the bazooka does, so it will leave you with such a terrible scar. You may also choose dermabrasion; this procedure involves scrubbing the tattoo off with the help of the wire brush. Another way of removing tattoo is through excision, where the skin with the tattoo is cut off and the patches of skin is stitched back together, however, this procedure could produce some ghastly scar.

According to Kirby, laser tattoo removal can remove the tattoo without harming the skin. Try to think of a pigment that which is about the size of a marble beneath your skin and your body is not able to naturally get rid of the pigment due to its big size, the laser will then try to smash down that pigment into tiny bits of pieces to make it easy for your body to remove.

In the year 2009, Dr. Tattoff has finished fourteen thousand tattoo removal procedures. His patients include fourteen-year old and eighty-seven year old. Most of his patients were female between the ages of eighteen and thirty-four. There was someone who was very fresh out of jail, a USC student and even a customer who just had his tattoo some few hours, all these patients have one thing in common, and they all want a new beginning.

Getting a tattoo, is more than getting a new hairdo, having your nails done, getting some new apartment, it is a new lease on life, it will make you feel like a renewed person, according to Dr. William Kirby, a dermatologist, which is the brother of Dr. Kirby. Dr. Kirby even emphasized that some of the reasons are ex-lovers names, fraternity letters, and barbed wire tattoos which are considered as ever-so-trendy; however, there are tattoos that are even intense among the others.

According to Dr. Kirby, he is a big Willie Nelson fan, and there was even one time when he had seen the face of Willie Nelson located on the private area of a woman, the pubic hair of the woman was made to look as the beard of Willie Nelson.

The success of the tattoo removal will basically depend on various reasons such as the location, and the color. According to experts, the closer the tattoo is to the heart the easier it can be removed, this is because of the increased blood flow. Dr. Kirby even told that there are many of his patients like the owner of the Electric Body Tattoo, for instance who will have the area o his or her skin cleared just to be able to have another tattoo placed on the same area. If there is an increased in the laser tattoo removal places, it also means that the business for tattoo parlors will be booming. Once laser tattoo removal treatments increase, there will also be an increased in the revenue for tattoo parlors. There are numbers of people today who will often try removing their tattoo, because they do not like it anymore and then have it replaced with a new one. This story was reported by Michelle LaRue of the Annenberg Radio.
